Tapped Out Account: twentydecks
Purpose – A Fun and Friendly Format for Magic the Gathering
that’s easy on the wallet, accessible to new players and a serious challenge
for deck builders and experienced players.
Pricing sites accepted: TCGPlayer or Tapped Out
Rules –
1. Format
All Decks Must be standard. Please see the standard construction rules listed in the
Appendix.
2. Deck Pricing & Registery
Deck construction for the 60 card main deck cannot exceed
20.00 at the time of registry.
o Registry
consists of sending a copy with a screenshot of your decklist and the given
price with the date.
o Please
email the decklist as soon as you’ve got it set for Adrienne or JT to run it
through independently and confirm pricing.
3. Proxies
Please let Adrienne or JT know if you need to use proxies.
Proxies will be printed with the MC3 20$ League logo on them and provided on an
as-needed basis, we encourage you to source the cards since it’s budget but the
goal is to play. Also club members may be able to help you out with these cards
so we’ll be offering proxies with the intent for the decks to be filled out.
4. Sideboard
The sideboard cannot exceed $5.00 with the same requirements
for registry that the main deck requires.
5. The Rule of Commons
All Commons are equal to 2 cents to standardize the variation
between pricing sources.
Appendix – Current Standard Rules
Updated September 20, 2012
Deck Size:
Constructed
decks must contain a minimum of 60 cards.
There is
no maximum deck size; however, you must be able to shuffle your deck with no
assistance.
Sideboard Size
If a player wishes to use a sideboard, it must contain exactly fifteen cards.
Deck
There may
only be 4 of any individual card that isn’t a Basic Land in the entire deck
(including the sideboard, a sideboard always counts in deck totals)
Basic Lands
All cards
named Plains, Island, Swamp, Mountain, and Forest are basic.
The following card sets are permitted in Standard tournaments:
•
Innistrad
•
Dark Ascension
•
Avacyn Restored
•
Magic 2013
•
Return to Ravnica (effective October 5, 2012)
•
Gatecrash (effective February 1, 2013)
There are no cards banned in Standard tournaments.
*newb
note- The thing that makes “Standard” Standard is that it only uses cards from
the two previous expansion releases. If you aren’t sure if the card you want to
use is standard ask us and we’ll help, we can also help you find a card that
does something similar that is Standard. Don’t be afraid to ask!
Future Plan
We’re hoping to be able to provide
approved decks with a budget deck box and a 20$ League sticker after deck
approval so that when league members see each other in gaming spaces they’ll
know they’re playing decks working with the same constraints.
